White Fillings

Made of composite material, these fillings are white to mimic the appearance of your tooth.

Silver fillings

The traditional type of filling, these are made of a mixture of metals. Although not as cosmetic as the white filling, this material is very long-lasting and cost-effective.

Inlays & Onlays

These are custom made fillings that require two appointments to complete. In the first session your tooth is prepared for the filling and a temporary filling is placed. In the second step, the laboratory fabricated filling is cemented in your tooth. Made of either gold or porcelain, these are also very long-lasting fillings.

Please note: The choice of filling material is yours alone, however it is best to discuss your options with the dentist to determine the best choice to meet your goals and the needs of your tooth.

Crowns

This is a restoration designed to restore a tooth that is heavily broken down. Made of metal, porcelain or a combination of the two materials, it goes on top of your tooth to surround and reinforce it. You need a crown if your tooth is badly broken down, has had a large filling, root canal treatment or has fractured. Crowns can sometimes be used to correct the appearance of a misaligned tooth.

Root Canals

A root canal treatment is a procedure to remove a dying or infected nerve inside a tooth. This allows you to retain the tooth pain-free so it can function for many more years. Teeth that have had root canal treatment usually need a crown afterwards to protect them as they are at risk of fracturing.
